Alone time was a rarity for the cub after the consequences of their injury became more apparent, but they were feeling well enough today that their little family had been willing to let them wander off to a nearby clearing to relax for a while. This took much begging and promises of not getting into trouble, of course, and then Cupid had gone ahead just to make sure there was nothing 'interesting' to eat around the edges, but now Riptide was sunbathing on their own just as they'd wanted.
There was even a nice big, flat rock in the clearing that caught a lot of sun, at least at this time of day. It smelled sort of like early afternoon, but Riptide wasn't wholly sure; they were lounging on their side, half-rolled to expose their belly to the sun and catch those lovely rays. The rock was also wonderfully warm beneath them, and all in all they felt like they were in heaven.
