The clouds and tree cover provided the dappled shadows that disrupted his solid shape. His gaze is settled on a lone fawn laying among the bushes. The creature is delicate looking with its thin legs folded beneath their slender torso. If only he had the capacity to feel guilty about his choice to devour it. Those eyes were open and curious while it dutifully rested where its mother had left it. How sad for her to return to find no fawn waiting for her after all.
