sea meets earth

The last time they had ventured far in search of new lands, there had been loss in the air; a sense of leaving behind something very dear to him. If felt like a lifetime ago. All the children were grown, and Wolfgang more rugged with age. It would not be long, he thought, to reach somewhere they could rest. Not just through individuals dawns and dusks, but a new home.
Now, though, they are vagabonds, but he doesn't mind that as much, as they are, after all, together. They settle that evening beside a pond with unusual stone ruins beside it; a shape Wolfgang had never seen before. But it was dry and sheltered and there was small game nearby that would be enough for a brief stop. He seeks @Azriael, carrying a limp fawn in his jaws. He hadn't caught it himself; one of the children, nimbler of foot likely had. But he rumbles out a low call for his husband as he settles his belly to the earth, curling massive paws beneath his chest as he waits. It was nice to share a meal.
